Carrier error code EC
What it means
Refrigerant leak detection alarm.
Possible causes
Significant leak causing very low charge Algorithm detecting abnormal temperature-pressure relationship Faulty sensor or wiring imitating leak conditions
Suggested fix
Switch off the unit and have a technician perform leak detection and pressure tests to confirm system integrity, repair any leaks and recharge to the specified weight; check sensors and wiring if no leak is found but EC remains active.
Safety first. Isolate the power supply before inspecting any unit. Refrigerant-circuit
and electrical repairs must be carried out by a qualified, registered technician.
